Howdy, hi, and hello again campers! The fresh spring breeze is finally upon us, we’ve all survived the cold-pocalypse, and nature is calling you by name! Now, I know what you’re thinking, “What oh WHAT to do?” Fear not, brave travelers and campers alike! We’ve got our top 10 camp activities for you!
10. Hiking

Our trails and the surrounding area really are no joke folks! Whether you leave at an early time and catch the sunrise, late night and catch a sunset, or leave at any time and enjoy the sun’s rays, you’re sure to enjoy stretching those legs and the simple act of human propulsion that is walking! Our favorites are the green trail around camp for ease of access, our blue trail for a more scenic view of our canyon and more plentiful vegetation (very pretty), or if you have lots of time/looking for a beautiful view, try hiking our Baldy trail! Any way you go, you’re sure to find some presence of mind, body, and spirit in the woods.
P.S. Take a friend! Safety and fun go hand in hand!
9. Snowtube Hill!

Our Snowtube Hill is perfect for everyone of every shape and size! The components really are very simple; a big hill, a turf field, an innertube, some soap and water. We trust you can do the math and see the fun there! We particularly love the Snowtube Hill because of its very high throughput; any number of people can enjoy the Snowtube Hill any number of times! It’s a really great way to cool off, speed up, or just hang out!
8. Archery Tag

Archery Tag is everything you think it’d be; launch arrows at your pals in the woods (don’t worry — the tips are cushiony soft foam)! For real though, it’s a great time to chase your friends in the woods with bows and arrows! The rush of the hunt, the smell of the pine, the *THWANG* of the bow string; it really is very immersive! We also have a wide variety of games to offer. Come on out and play some “Swords Shields” with our bows and arrows; it’s a blast!
7. Via Ferrata

Of course there’s rock climbing. But rock climbing isn’t exactly what we’re talking here. For Via Ferrata, steel cables and various obstacles have been hammered into a rock face. Participants clip into the cable and are sent on their merry way! Though, instead of strictly climbing, you’re actually climbing horizontally across the rock face; offering very scenic views of camp and the valley below! If you’re looking for a great way to push your comfort zone a bit, this is a great place to start!
6. Zip Drop

Derring-dos and thrill seekers alike, we give you the Zip Drop! The Zip Drop is our most exciting activity on our base camp (aside from the High Five, of course)! Most ziplines are metal cables with a trolley attached for a great time across a gorge. But the Zip Drop combines the out with the down! Participants are hooked into an Auto Belay which is attached to a zipline trolley! Meaning, as you step off the platform, you glide across our field below and are lowered onto it! This one is for the strong of heart, and it’s oh so worth it!
5. Waterfront

Camp wouldn’t be camp without a lake, now would it? That’s right, the waterfront is the place to be on a hot summer’s day. The best part about the Waterfront in the mountains is the high sun feels hot and the cool water feels the most refreshing! On top of that we have a lot of elements and obstacles for you to enjoy! We have ziplines, ropes swings, big slides, paddleboards, monkey bars, obstacle courses, and of course, DA BLOOOB! Seriously, what’s more fun than launching your friends to the moon?
4. Campfires + S’mores

Of course we’d have the quintessential camp activity in the top 5! Really nothing says camp like a campfire. We’ve long thought about what makes it so special. Maybe it’s the calmness of a log burning in the mountains; the only sound being friends and the mountain itself. Or maybe it’s the stories and songs you share around a fire. Maybe it’s the small beacon of light that it brings and the presence of friends that make it seem like even in a big world, there’s so many to fill it with. It could even just be that fire is fun, who knows! You can always enjoy a delicious s’more and some friendship when fires are near though!
3. Drift Trikes

Big wheels and big drifts galore! There’s an unbelievably surprising amount of fun to be had with the drift trikes! Once you put the helmet on and touch the trike, you can’t help but get giddy and feel like a kid, no matter the age! You just hop on the trike and ride; but the twist is that wheels are specially made with less tread, so you spin out on them and hit a sick drift! Once you’re done going down the big hill we have, you can take it to the next level. Grab a soccer ball and mobile goal post and you’ve got a Drift Ball! Or even a basketball and a court! Then you’re out on the court, drift around people, taking shots at goals, and having an absolute ball of a time!
2. Group Development

Group Development is so very central to what makes camp. We’d go so far as to say that that is the only reason to really come out to camp. Group Development is of course a mindset, but we also offer it as an activity slot! Group D looks like anything and everything for any group! You could be working out your differences to get across an imaginary volcano with lava sharks at the bottom! You could be putting your heads together to make the best picture of a kitchen using only your body before a pair of highly scrutinous judges. It could even be as simple as getting everyone to step on a rope at the EXACT same time! At camp we want to provide a way for people to look beyond themselves; take an outside glance at who they are and how they interact with others. We can really think of no better way than Group Development.
1. High Five

Here we are! Our biggest and baddest and best bang for your buck! THE HIGH FIVE! The High Five is a 5 tower zipline that sprawls across the eastern side of our wilderness. With the base camp located just outside of our front gate, your day starts off with meeting our lovely guides, getting harnessed up, and loading up into a military truck and heading up the mountain! Once you’re up, our guides send and receive you line to line and back-and-forth across the mountain! There’s a brief and beautiful hike in the middle with snacks (we hear they have watermelon! 👀👀👀) before you launch off again at up to 40 miles an hour! You can enjoy the High Five almost any weekend of the year, just book us at High Five Home – Glorieta Adventures High Five!
