Shawn serves as the Kids Pastor at Hillside Christian Church and has a heart for helping kids and families grow in their faith and relationships with one another. Born and raised in Houston, Amarillo has become home for their family and the place where they continue to serve and build community.

For their family, the “secret sauce” of Family Camp is actually no secret at all-have fun, be silly, be intentional with the people around you, and most importantly, listen to the Lord. Family Camp creates space for families to slow down, be present with each other, and focus on what matters most.

They are excited to serve as a host family because Jaime and the family love spending time with people and investing in others. Many people have invested in their family over the years, and they are excited for the opportunity to do the same for other families at camp.

As a family, they love playing games, eating dinner together around the table, watching movies, and doing anything that gets everyone laughing. Their encouragement to families at camp is simple: enjoy the time-whether that’s resting in the gazebo, hiking, or praying together-and don’t worry about results. Just be present and trust that God will take care of the rest.
