Rule the Square! 9 Square is one-part four square, one-part volleyball, and all parts chaotic and amazing! The goal is to progress to the middle of the square, take out your opponents, and not let the ball land in your square. It’s harder than you think! And perfect for campers of all ages. Arbor Climb

Climb into the treetops in this camp-favorite activity! With rock climbing holds and an auto belay system, you’ll scale new heights in moments. All climbers must be safely harnessed and helmeted for the journey upward. Participants must weigh between 22-330lbs and wear closed toed shoes.

Archery

Where are our Robin Hoods? Katniss Everdeens? Channel your inner hunter with a classic bow and arrow. Located at the one and only Target Town in Ruiz Canyon.

Rock Climbing Wall:
The rock climbing wall is a fun and challenging activity where campers can push themselves and try something new in a safe and encouraging environment.

Bouldering Walls:
The bouldering walls are a great place for campers to climb, problem-solve, and challenge themselves on shorter climbing routes designed for all skill levels.

Climbing Grotto

Foam pit or rock wall, you decide! Test your grip and your core strength on our Swiss Army knife of climbing sweetness. This tower can test and inspire almost any level of climber.

Crate Stacking

Test your balance and strength as you attach to an auto belay and climb to the ceiling using milk crates! Participants must weigh between 22-330lbs.

Dart Zone – In the Gameroom

Introducing our brand-new Dart Zone in the Game Room at New Mexico Hall! Step up to one of our three electronic dart lanes, where the dart boards connect to an iPad for interactive games, automatic scoring, and a variety of fun game modes for all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner just learning or a competitive player ready for a challenge, the Dart Zone is a great place to hang out, compete with friends, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Disc Golf

We’re proud to be a premier disc golf facility, featuring 27 baskets across two distinct courses. One beginner-friendly course offers shorter distances and a quicker playing experience, while a championship-level course includes 18 holes with long and short tee positions and a par of 64 — the highest in New Mexico. Be sure to pack your own discs!

Drift Ball

Every competition lover’s dream! Drift ball is a wacky Glorieta original that combines tricycles, soccer, basketball, and sometimes rugby. There’s nothing else like it! Weight maximum: 300 lbs.

Drift Trikes

Ride down a marked course on our drifting tricycles while doing all sorts of spins, tricks, and maneuvers. Weight maximum: 300 lbs.

Flylines

A fast and beautiful trip through the sky. Start from the top of the hill and glide to the landing spot alongside 5 of your friends! Participants must weigh between 45– 275 lbs.

Foam Party

There’s foam. There’s music. There’s a lot of laughs. Sometimes you can’t beat a good old-fashioned foam party.

Gaga Ball

Ga…ga…BALL! If you’ve never played, you’re about to experience a revelation! Part King of the Hill, part dodgeball, it’s the ultimate camp game. Keep a lookout for one of the dozen gaga ball pits around camp!

Glorieta Baldy Hike

Take on the challenge of hiking Mount Baldy, one of the most iconic peaks on Glorieta property. This guided hike begins at trailhead on property and covers about 10 miles round trip with roughly 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Along the way, you’ll hike through beautiful high-country terrain, forest trails, and incredible mountain views.

This is a challenging but rewarding hike, and reaching the top is an accomplishment you won’t forget. Our staff will guide the group, set the pace, and help make this a safe and memorable mountain adventure.

For groups of all types and all ages! Challenging, fun, and formative activities designed to increase trust and teamwork in your group.

Hide & Seek

Hide-and-seek meets camp! Set in our boulder field with endless hiding spots, this game is a camp favorite. Kids versus parents … who will win? Gameplay may include infection, sardines, classic hide-and-seek, last person standing, and more. We will always host a large game at a designated time during Ruiz Canyon Adventure Time. Ready or not, here we come!

High Five Zipline

The crown jewel of any Glorieta experience. The High Five Zipline Adventure is a series of five high-speed ziplines with mountain and forest views. The adventure lasts for over a  mile – plus lines are tandem, so you can ride beside a family member. Requirements: 60lbs min, 275lbs max, between 4′ and 6.6′, & must properly fit into a harness

Imagination Land

Immerse yourself in wonder. Imagination Land is a small nature trail designed for kids to explore. It’s filled with whimsical features and imaginative scenes. Part fairyland, part dinosaur world, and part army adventure, this trail is a place where imagination runs wild. Explore for five minutes or five hours — your pick. Imagination Land also has daily scavenger hunts, giving kids a run reason to come back to explore again and again.

Inflatables

The inflatable bounce house is a fun and energetic activity for kids to jump, play, and slide while enjoying time with friends and family.

Mega Marble Run

Come try our Marble Run, the longest marble run in North America at over 600 feet long! Race your marble down the track, time your run, and see if you can claim the title of fastest marble in the land. It’s a fun and simple activity that quickly becomes a family favorite.

Mini Golf

If putting around is your thing, we have the perfect way to pass the afternoon. This classic family sport is best under the pines, with a nice summer breeze.

Outdoor Rock Climbing at Scampi

Scale the walls of Scampi! Enjoy four different climbing routes after about a 25-minute hike to arrive at Scampi. This epic experience lets you go rock climbing with an auto belay, meaning it’s fit for all skill levels. Who in your family will climb the fastest?

This one’s for our thrill seekers. Rappel off the roof of Holcomb Auditorium for the ultimate I can’t believe I did that! moment. Participants must be able to properly fit into a harness and weigh no more than 275 lbs.

Redneck Paintball

Get ready for an epic showdown! With slingshots and paintballs in hand, unleash your playful side in a wild battle. It’s paintball with a twist – messy, fun, and guaranteed to make memories!

Ruiz Canyon

Ruiz Canyon serves as an activity hub for Family Camp and is home to Target Town, a fairy garden, Marble Run, Climbing Wall, and more! There’s also ample spaces to just relax and enjoy the mountain air. Connect, explore, and choose your adventure.

Sandbox

Our sandbox play area is a great spot for younger campers to dig, build, and play while using their creativity and imagination. Shade overhangs help keep kids cool and comfortable while they play.

Slingshots

Ready to feel like David taking down Goliath? Slingshots at Target Town are a fun, timeless activity the whole family can enjoy. Ready, set, aim!

Snow Tubing

Who needs snow to go snow tubing? Not us! Grab a tube and get ready for an invigorating ride! Weight maximum: 300 lbs.

Requirements: 50lbs min, 275lbs max, at least 4 feet tall & must properly fit into a harness. Up to 3 people may ride at a time if the combined weight is less than 500lbs.

Target Town

Target Town combines all the best target-based activities in one epic spot! There’s axe throwing, knife throwing, archery, and paintball sling shots! Get ready to aim, play, and be victorious in this new adventure.

The Burrow

Bunnies!! The Burrow is popular for a reason — this is where you can hold, pet, and spend quality time with our friendly bunnies. It’s a cute, fun, hoppy activity that’s great for all ages. 

Via Ferrata – Family Camp

We recently redesigned our famous Family Camp Via Ferrata, an “iron path” built into the mountain that allows guests to safely traverse brand-new cliff features, bridges, and rock walls while securely attached to a safety cable. It’s a unique mix of hiking and climbing and a great adventure for anyone looking to try something new and experience the mountain in a whole new way. Participants must be able to properly fit into a harness and weigh no more than 275 lbs.

Via Ferrata – Retreats and Conferences

Horizontal rock climbing meets obstacle course! Catch the explorer’s spirit as you connect to a cable and help your group across obstacles that run along a cliff’s edge.

Volleyball Courts

You may have played volleyball at the beach, but have you ever played in the mountains? With a giganto volleyball? Now’s your chance!

Water Play Area

The water table play area is a great spot for younger campers to splash, pour, and explore with hands-on water activities in a fun and relaxed environment.

Waterfront

Our waterfront is the perfect place to relax, play, and enjoy time by the water during your stay at camp. This is a shared camp space used by multiple programs, creating a fun and lively atmosphere throughout the day. There are always lifeguards on duty, so you can safely enjoy all the waterfront has to offer.

White Water Rafting (+$)

If you’re looking for a memorable addition to your vacation here in Northern New Mexico, consider upgrading your adventure with a day of white water rafting! This is an off-site excursion on the Rio Grande Racecourse with the amazing crew at NMRA. Plan on a 6 hour experience on the designated adventure day (5 and 6 night sessions only). You’re responsible for transportation but we’ll provide your lunch. Ages 5 & up are welcome to join. Childcare will not be available. The cost is $66 per person. To register, log into your registration account, select the Add-On section, and click White Water Rafting. We will also send an email with more information regarding registering for these add-on adventures.

Zip Drop

A wacky twist on a traditional zipline. You leap off the platform while harnessed into an auto belay that lowers you slowly as you glide through the air! Participants must weigh between 22-330lbs.
