Fabian currently serves as a Worship and Student Resident at Hillside Christian Church, where he loves helping students and families grow deeper in their faith and connection to the church. Though he was born in Gallup, New Mexico, he considers Amarillo home-a place that helped shape who he is today.
Family Camp holds a special place in his heart because of the way it brings families together to worship, rest, and grow spiritually side by side. He believes that experiencing camp alongside your family is a key part of what makes it so impactful. Worshiping together and encountering God in that environment strengthens the family unit, and he has personally witnessed the Holy Spirit move powerfully in his own children during camp.
What excites him most about serving as a worship leader next summer is the opportunity to serve alongside others while stepping away from the pace of everyday life. As a family, they deeply value their church community and are looking forward to time in the mountains-connecting with others, worshiping together, and ultimately drawing closer to God.
His family is a blended one that he believes the Lord has intentionally and beautifully brought together. Their oldest daughter recently moved out and has begun her first “big girl” job, and while she won’t be able to attend camp this year, the rest of the family will be there and eagerly anticipating the experience. Camp is something they look forward to every year. They love simple moments together-watching movies, sharing meals, and laughing often. Serving together at Hillside’s South Campus is also a meaningful part of their family rhythm, and they find joy in supporting and caring for those around them.
One simple but meaningful idea he loves encouraging at camp is helping families come ready to serve. He often tells his youngest to look for someone to serve each day, and she eagerly recounts those moments at the end of the day. He believes that when families arrive with open hearts toward God and others, they’re often surprised by how many opportunities they’re given to reflect God’s love in simple, unforgettable ways.
