Hop on a mountain scooter and ride down the mountain on dirt trails for a fast, thrilling, and adrenaline-filled adventure. It’s a unique way to experience the trails and a favorite for adventure seekers.

The Via Ferrata is an “iron path” built into the mountain that allows guests to safely traverse cliff faces, bridges, and rock walls while attached to a safety cable. It’s a fun mix of hiking and climbing and a great adventure for those looking to try something new.

Our High Five zipline features five tandem, high-speed lines, allowing you to race and fly alongside a friend through the breathtaking Rocky Mountain landscape. This adventure sends you soaring for more than a mile over deep canyons, through towering pines, and across stunning mountain scenery.

Take on the challenge of hiking Mount Baldy, one of the most iconic peaks on Glorieta property. This guided hike begins right from trailhead access on camp property and covers about 10 miles round trip with roughly 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Along the way, you’ll hike through beautiful high-country terrain, forest trails, and incredible mountain views.

If you’re looking for a peaceful and refreshing way to slow down during your time at camp, consider joining us for paddle board yoga on the waterfront.

We’ll anchor our paddle boards on calm water and guide you through simple stretches and beginner-friendly yoga movements, all while gently floating. This experience is designed to be relaxing and accessible, no prior yoga or paddle board experience needed. Surrounded by the beauty of creation, you’ll have space to be still, breathe deeply, and rest in God’s presence. It’s a unique opportunity to step away from the busyness of the day and enjoy a quiet, meaningful moment on the water.

Add-on adventures

If you’re looking for a memorable addition to your vacation here in Northern New Mexico, consider upgrading your adventure with a day of white water rafting! This is an off-site excursion on the Rio Grande Race Course with the amazing crew at NMRA. Plan on a 6 hour experience on the designated adventure day (5 and 6 night sessions only). You’re responsible for transportation but we’ll provide your lunch. Ages 5 & up are welcome to join. Childcare will not be available. The cost is $66 per person. To register, log into your registration account, select the Add-On section, and click White Water Rafting. We will also send an email with more information regarding registering for these add-on adventures.

If you’re looking to add a relaxing and scenic outdoor adventure to your time in Northern New Mexico, consider booking a guided fly fishing trip in the Rocky Mountains.

Trips are offered as full day or half day experiences with a maximum of 3 guests per guide, with additional guides required for larger groups. All fishing equipment is provided for the day, and guests will need to purchase a fishing license online through the New Mexico Department of Wildlife.

You’ll fish some of Northern New Mexico’s most beautiful and lesser-known waters, including high mountain creeks, freestone streams, rivers, tailwaters, and alpine lakes. This is a great opportunity to experience quiet mountain scenery while learning from experienced local guides.

This is a peaceful, flexible outing designed for all experience levels and a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

New Mexico is known as the hot air balloon capital of the world, making it the perfect place to experience the beauty and wonder of flight high above the desert landscape in Albuquerque. This off-site adventure is operated by the incredible team at StrangeKind Ballooning and offers a peaceful, one of a kind way to experience the beauty of New Mexico from above.

Your experience begins early in the morning with check in at El Verde Inn, where your group will be transported to the day’s launch site based on the best weather and wind conditions. You’ll watch the balloon come to life during inflation, receive a brief safety orientation, and then gently lift off for a breathtaking flight over the Rio Grande Valley and Sandia Mountains. Flights last about 45 to 60 minutes, with the full experience taking approximately 3 to 4 hours on our designated adventure day (5 and 6 night sessions only).

This is a completely private experience, meaning your group will have the entire balloon to yourselves with no other passengers. It is a great option for families or small groups looking to share a meaningful and memorable moment together. Groups of up to 10 passengers can be accommodated using both a 10 passenger and a 4 passenger balloon.

After landing, you’ll return to El Verde Inn for a celebratory toast with champagne or sparkling cider. Transportation to and from the launch site is included.

Guests should plan to arrive promptly at 6:00 AM and wear layered clothing with closed toe shoes. This experience requires the ability to stand for the duration of the flight and step in and out of the basket with minimal assistance. All flights are weather dependent, and childcare is not available.
