Volunteer Individuals and Couples

Bring your passion for serving the Lord when you volunteer at Glorieta Camps! Join our staff to inspire Christlike change through outdoor adventure, authentic relationships, and biblical truth.

Volunteers are a vital part of facilitating the day to day needs of our camp. By helping to provide a safe, fun, and godly environment, each camper is given the opportunity to meet Jesus and grow in relationship with Him. Our volunteers serve in many areas, both behind the scenes and in direct contact with our camp family. As practical needs are met, campers become open to having their spiritual needs met.

Description

You will serve alongside other volunteers, summer staff and full time staff providing essential services. The greatest and most direct need is food service. Most of our volunteers will work in the dining room during meals where they have "front line" opportunity to share a Christ-like example to campers. We ask that you pray for safety and salvation as lives are changed. We value the multi-generational experience, maturity, wisdom and graciousness our volunteers provide.

For your information: we love working with volunteer teams and groups. We handle those assignments and reservations through our Retreats office in coordination with our Director of Operations. To contact our Retreats office, please email retreats@glorieta.org

Details

Housing

Volunteers are provided an RV site or campus housing during time of service.

Duration

The length of volunteer service is somewhat customizable. In order to minimize turnover and training, we ask for a minimum service period of one month. Many serve several months. Shorter terms are considered on an individual basis, based on ministry needs.

Meals

Volunteers are provided meals when campers and guests groups are being served in the dining facilities. This is typically mid-May through August.

Prayer

Prayer coverage is an integral part of our volunteer ministry program. We believe and practice Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears." With that promise, the spiritual and physical needs of our campers, their leaders, as well as our permanent and volunteer staff, are consistently being lifted before the Lord.

Personal Time

A special benefit of volunteering at Glorieta is becoming a member of our close volunteer family. We work together, play together, pray together, and worship together. While our primary purpose at Glorieta is service, during personal time we may share in game nights, movie nights, worship services, or visits to area attractions. If you choose to spend some time alone with the Lord, you will find many hiking trails and beautiful places on campus and throughout the mountains.
